Give your child a head start in English
A2 Flyers is the highest of the three Cambridge Assessment English: Young Learners tests. As your child improves and works their way up to the A2 Flyers certificate, they reach a level which will enable them to aim for Cambridge English: B1 Preliminary. This B1 test is the gateway to exams that lead to internationally accepted certificates which can be used for work and study purposes.
Practical and useful language skills
Learning English which is practical and useful is essential for children. It is important that the English they learn meets internationally accepted standards which will help prepare them for studying abroad or working at an international level.
Flyers is set at the A2 Level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). A2 is the level of English needed to:
- understand simple written English
- communicate in familiar situations
- understand short notices and simple spoken directions.
For example, at A2 level, you can expect them to:
- understand and use basic phrases and expressions
- introduce themselves and answer basic questions about their personal details
- interact with English speakers who talk slowly and clearly
- write short, simple notes.
The Young Learners tests are specifically designed with the interests of schoolchildren in mind, so stimulating their motivation to learn English. Based on familiar topics, the tests give your child the confidence they need, and inspire them to do well.
